Coming off a loss to Strikeforce Welterweight Champion, Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza, “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler looked to bounce back with a win over Tim Kennedy at Strikeforce Chicago. Lawler displayed some very impressive takedown defense early and often as he punished Kennedy every time he came in for a takedown but eventually Tim Kennedy’s persistence payed off. Kennedy took the decision with a game plan that focused on takedowns which allowed him to control the pace and limit any offense by Lawler. Although “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler didn’t come out with the victory, he left the cage in style with his Xtreme Couture walkout t-shirt.
