Hayabusa x MMADEAL Holiday Giveaway
I’ve recently had the good fortune to personally try out Hayabusa’s Uwagi Lightweight Jacket and I gotta say, I’m impressed with it. When I tried this jacket out, it was a brisk 35.6 Fahrenheit out, or 2 Celsius, and I was just wearing a t-shirt with the jacket to see how it would fare. I had an idea I would still be pretty cold because this new Uwagi Jacket is the lightweight version and I was correct, but wearing a hoodie underneath was a simple fix. You can’t fault Hayabusa for this. As for the fit of the jacket, I’m about 6’1 or about 185cm with a chest of 43 inches and wingspan of 74 inches so an XL fits pretty much perfectly on me. The material may look hard and stiff but I haven’t had any problems with it as I still have a full range of motion in the jacket. The only time of year I wouldn’t wear this jacket is during the summer. It’s a lightweight jacket, but wearing any kind of jacket during the summer isn’t so smart…unless you’re trying to cut weight.
The new Hayabusa Uwagi Lightweight Jacket is based on the original Hayabusa Uwagi Jacket but the newer Uwagi jacket isn’t made with a gi weave but rather a material that resembles canvas. The jacket is made with 100% treated high tenacity cotton fabric giving it that strength that you’re looking for in a jacket. The Uwagi Lightweight Jacket is only available in black. The front features the Hayabusa logo embroidered in black with an outline of red stitching across the chest. The quality of the jacket is apparent in the skillful embroidery and the stitching in the seams. The sleeves feature an elastic cuff along with triple stitching along its three seams that run from the sides of the sleeve to the chest on the front and back and a third seam that runs from the cuff to the armpit. The jacket has two pockets in the front and is fully zippered down the middle. There are two drawstrings at the bottom that allow you to tighten the fit around the bottom in case you’re feeling a little chilly.
The back of the Hayabusa Uwagi Lightweight Jacket is where most of the graphical design is concentrated. The first thing you’ll notice on the back is the Kanji characters embroidered in black down the spine of the back that is outlined in red stitching. In addition to the Kanji characters, a design is embroidered all across the back with black double stitching. The Kanji characters along the spine of the back are the 7 virtues of Bushido, or the way of the samurai. The 7 virtues of Bushido are rectitude, courage, benevolence, respect, honesty, honor, and loyalty.The inside of the jacket is lined with red cotton fabric along the back.
