Clinch Gear X MMADeal Holiday Giveaway

This week, I had the pleasure of reviewing the Clinch Gear Star T-Shirt and the Elite Series Royal Blue Performance Board Shorts. The overall design on the shirt is fairly simple with the words “Clinch gear” printed on the front in yellow letters with 2 yellow starts on each side of the word “gear” and a yellow Clinch Gear logo on the left sleeve. The Star T-Shirt is 100% combed ring-spun cotton and has a tubular body meaning it has no side seams. The seams along the collar, the shoulder, and and the one that runs from the shoulder to the collar are done with single stitching.

As I’ve said before, I’m about 6’1 or about 185cm with a chest of 43 inches and got a large for the Clinch Gear Star T-Shirt that comes in royal blue. The slim fit large I got fit me perfectly and was neither too tight or too baggy but just right. This shirt has become one of my favorite t-shirts ever since I put it on. It isn’t because it has some stylish, hilarious or witty design on it but it’s the feel. This Clinch Gear T-Shirt is unbelievably comfortable. Don’t get me wrong, this shirt is a nice looking shirt with its simple design but the first thing you’ll notice when you put it on is not how good you look in it but rather how good you feel in it.

I got the Elite Series Royal Blue Performance Board Shorts in a 38 and they fit perfectly on me. The shorts are made of 100% polyester and the fly and Proprietary Clinch Gear waist closure system use Velcro to securely close. The shorts come in royal blue like the Star Tee and feature the Clinch Gear name and logo in yellow on the waist closure and on the sides of each leg. The back also features the Clinch Gear name and logo printed along waste on the back.

Even before I put these shorts on, I quickly noticed the quality of the stitching all over the shorts. Only the waist, fly and top closure are double stitched as almost every seam is secured with triple stitching. All the stress areas are covered with triple stitching like the gusset and along the sides so you have peace of mind that they won’t split like paper while you are fighting, sparring, rolling or working out. When I first saw the Elite Series Royal Blue Performance Board Shorts I was a little worried that my movement and range of motion might suffer due to the lack of a side slit on each leg but once I put them on I was proven wrong. Instead of the usual slit you see along the sides of MMA shorts, Clinch gear uses its sublimated expansion panels to achieve the same effect. The Clinch gear sublimated expansion panels run vertically along each side of the legs and laterally along the rear which give you maximum flexibility. When I tested the shorts out, I had full range of motion and felt no hindrance when I was lifting my leg throwing kicks, dropping for take-downs or moving on the ground. The gusset is made of the same material that the expansion panels and offered no restriction in range of motion on my feet or the ground making these shorts great for MMA or grappling.

Clinch Gear claims that, “These limited edition Royal Blue Elite Series Clinch Gear shorts are by far the most functional and aesthetically appealing shorts in industry history.” While I can’t say that I’ve tried out all the MMA shorts out there, I can attest that these Elite Series Royal Blue Performance Board Shorts are one of the best MMA shorts I have ever worn.
